Around the House

We have been really busy around the house lately. We are saving for carpet so what we decided to do is put tile in our master bath, the other upstairs bath, and a section in front of our sliding glass door. Carl is such a handy man that we started in our master bath which has up to this point had carpet (I know disgusting but we didn't have it done that way, the negative aspect of buying a previously owned home). So we worked and worked (mostly Carl) and he got the tile done and then we decided to paint. I thought yellow would be good, then we painted, the color I got looked florescent. Long story short we painted 4 coats of paint on many parts of our master bath. Here is a look at the pretty well finished project. Carl is so great to have around! Thanks, babe!

I thought I'd finally throw in a picture of my ever growing belly. I've got a couple of months to go and things are still really good. I crave sleep and fruits especially oranges and the end of the school year.

I couldn't help but throw this one in of Garrick riding his tractor. He is so funny, and his dad and Grandpa Bench are very proud of the farm boy he is becoming. What a cutie. Also thanks to some great advice (THANKS AMY!!) and some good tiring play he has been napping much better.

To Nap or Not to Nap

My wonderful darling boy is such a good kid, he eats good, he sleeps at night good, he listens pretty good, and he talks like a freakin' champ. But naps are the bane of my existence. He doesn't give my sitter any problems but he has been a pill for my mom and myself for sometime. This coupled with the switch to a toddler bed has made nap time frustrating to me and really funny to him. Even if he is dead tired he fights napping, I know this because I will pick him up and hold him for less than 5 minutes and he is out. It is almost like he is so tired but he can't get himself to sit still, because once he does he is out. Naps are also really important for him, he really needs his naps (okay truth be told maybe we both do), he becomes this crazy person without them as do I. Any of you wonderful toddler moms who has a trick, the advice would be more than welcome. So for me not nappping is not an option, but Garrick thinks it is funny to test me. Amy you were right I spoke a little too soon, but if naps are my only issue with my two year old I am so happy. Oh, naps and the ever growing baby in my womb, she and Garrick are really, I mean really hard to carry together.

Happy Birthday Garrick

We have tons of great pictures from Garrick's birthday which was really fun but this video is priceless. We were at Carl's parents over the weekend and just invited his siblings over for cake. He had had such a good day and he even got to lick the frosting beater, that I didn't expect this good a reaction. He loves the birthday song now, last night he actually asked us to sing it to him as we put him to bed, and now our house is a birthday house and all of his toys are birthday toys. He is so cute and hilarious, who said 2 is so terrible?
