Week 1, Year 9

First of all Happy Anniversary to my man. We have officially been married 8 years and so we are starting our 9th. It has been a great run and I love him so much. We celebrated our anniversary last weekend because that is when we could get a sitter, thanks mom. We did a stay-cation. We slept at home and just hung out and saw movies and ate out. It was great. It is funny because that is what we usually end up doing most anniversaries, we're best friends though and it is nice to re-connect. On our anniversary Carl went and picked up his new favorite toy, nope not me or the Murano any more, welcome. . .

The kids, okay only Garrick really, were excited that it was finally not raining so I brought out the pool. We'd done it once earlier in the year and they both loved splashing and being splashed. Marley didn't like being splashed as much this time but we all got a little wet and had a good time. Oh, and I love the new swimming suits they have for kids, my pasty white Icky doesn't run near the risk of getting burned in his nice rash guard.

Happy Father's Day

I just wanted to wish Carl, Ralph and my Dad a happy father's day. I'm a day late and sure that I'm a dollar short but we love them so much. Thanks for all you do for us!! WE LOVE YOU! (Sorry Ralph, couldn't find a picure of you.) The first pic is of our lazy sunday, Carl and Icky sleeping on the floor, the middle is at the Ocurrh Mountain Temple, and the third is my Dad and Icky with their twinner hats.)

Gatherum Zoo Trip

Last Thursday was the annual Gatherum Zoo Trip. I have only gone with my brother Kev the past couple of years, but this year we invited pretty much everyone and were sad that Tucker and Jacob couldn't come. I love my siblings and their kids. My neices Brittany and Kaitlyn took Garrick everywhere, held his hand, picked up his massiveness. They are wonderful. We had a great time. The highlights were when the orange little monkeys were chasing Kate's bear, and of course the train. It took, me, Lori and Kevin to get Icky off the train, he wasn't done yet. Thanks Everyone!!

Weeks, days, hours.

Couple of quick stories for all those who may or may not care.

A couple of weeks ago while Carl and his buddy Bryce were working on the cement (no I did not mean to imply he did it himself). I was chatting with Bryce's wife and I noticed Icky fishing around in the neighbor's wood chips, I didn't think much of it because he likes to pick up bugs. He then proceeded to come and show us what he found. Much to my dismay my bug taming son had picked up a bee, yes a live bee. He had it by the middle section of it's body so it couldn't sting him. Don't know how he did it but I smooshed it, and informed him that a bee could hurt him.

A couple of days ago Icky started saying that there was a wasp, I saw one flying out by the deck and told him it was outside. He didn't believe me and kept saying it. I went over to him to show him the wasp flying outside when I noticed that there was one walking on our tile. (He was right I made sure to let him know that I was wrong.) Carl quickly smooshed it with a shoe and started toward the bathroom where he could flush it, when Garrick began freaking out. So, Carl took it outside, where, according to Garrick it's friends would help him feel better. He later prayed at dinner and at bed time that the wasp, with the help of his friends, would feel better.

A couple of hours ago while the kids and I were enjoying the outdoors, and Garrick was bringing me 'tato bugs, I noticed him chewing something. I looked at his mouth and then looked at his hand. In his hand was a dried up worm (from the rain), in his mouth was a bite of this dried up worm. After I told him to spit it out I asked him why he tried the worm, he said "I don't know." NICE. He'd asked me earlier if he could eat a 'worman' (from Backyardigans, you were right Laura, it is a cute show) I told him he probably shouldn't. I guess I should have said 'No.'

My little boy is definitely made of slime and snails and puppy dog tails. (I think that is how it goes, but I get the strange feeling I am quoting David Bowe in Labrynth instead of the poem.)
